What are some tips for a succesful fast (or lent)?
Personally, I just feel like as long as I keep myself busy, I am able to accomplish the physical aspect of fasting. If I have nothing to do, i find myself feeling hungry and staring at the clock.

I am so grateful to God... He is ever so faithful... I asked for a miracle, for a testimony and the Lord was quick to hearken to my prayers... Now I know that indeed with faith in God, one can do the impossible. Lord, I am in awe of your greatness and my life for all times will be dedicated to you.

Lent is a period when we must deny our flesh something that is really important to us, and at the same time, feed our spirit with everything it needs like prayer, righteous living and in general just closeness to God. Praying is the big thing for me.

for a successful fast, of course you do not eat or drink for a period of time from 12midnight to 9 am, 12pm, 3pm or to 6pm and to have your fast get the attention of God you have to deny yourself of something you love so much that you will normally do on a regular basis, back that up with your prayers and thanksgiving to God and close it out with the giving of alms to the needy or feeding the hungry, Believe me you will have a successful fast and all that you ask from God will be granted unto you.

Lent is meant to be a fun period. Wejust have to see it that way. Like Christ said 'repent' i.e. change your mind set. Lent is a period that affords us the opportunity to realise that we were created like our Father and should act like Him. It helps to have a period to focus on Him because as we do, then we realise who we are in Him and remember how we ought to demonstrate his characteristics on earth. We are meant to have dominion. Lent helps us dominate our body. Charity as its said begins at home. If I want to have dominion then I start with my mind and body and little by little conquer my space, my world and then the world - for Christ. So lets do all to ensure we demonstrate our inheritance in the Lord.
